July 23rd – Discovery Apparel Orders Due

Order forms and payment for Discovery Apparel must be mailed to the school office by July 23rd. Addititonal order dates will be offered in the future, but this is the only order to be received prior to the start of school. Order forms and apparel detail can be found here.

August 1st – Photo Contribution (optional)

In an effort to bring the outdoors into our school, we are inviting students to capture the beauty of nature through photography. Winning entries will be matted, framed and hung in the hallways of our school. All entries will be featured in a photo album which will remain in our front foyer. Here is how to enter:

• Submit a photo that is one of the following sizes: (4x6; 5x7; 8x10) via mail by August 1st (Attn: Discovery Charter School; 800 Canonie Dr.; Porter, IN 46304)


• Write the location of the photo and brief description of the photo.


• Be certain to include the photographer(student’s) name.

August 3rd and 4th – School Registration

7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The following forms and fees must be turned in at the school office:
Medical Form
Copy of Immunization Record or Waiver
Free and Reduced Lunch Form
Carpool Form
Student Activity Fee ($75)
Textbook Rental Fee ($75)

The above forms were emailed to all enrolled families. If you need copies of the forms, please contact Jennifer Little. If you are unable to attend registration August 3rd or 4th, please contact Karen Poplawski to make alternate arrangements.

TBD – School Orientation

Prior to the start of school, your child’s teacher will contact you to make arrangements for you to see the school and your child’s classroom. At this time you will be able to meet with the teachers to establish your hopes and dreams for your child, set goals, and receive the school handbook along with important information about school procedures.
